Honouring Belfast's Industrial Heritage
PROTECT ENDURE SUSTAIN
Born from Belfast’s rich industrial heritage, The Belfast Bib Company is built on grit, craftsmanship, and generations of hard work. This is more than a brand - it is a tribute to the people who shaped our city, forged its industries, and understood the value of doing things properly.
Our family roots run deep through Belfast’s linen mills, rope works, and the infamous shipyard, where precision, durability, and pride in workmanship defined everyday life. In those industries, people owned little but relied on what they had, and bibbed aprons were worn daily to protect their clothing from hard wear. They taught a simple truth: the things you depend on must be made to last. That belief continues to guide everything we create.
Today, we honour that legacy by making functional, long-lasting products with care and intention. Crafted by skilled local artisans in Northern Ireland, every stitch and seam reflects our respect for quality materials, time-honoured skills, and the value of repair over replacement.

What sets us apart
The Belfast Bib Company is more than just a brand, it’s a celebration of our heritage, a tribute to the skilled hands of those who worked before us, and a promise to continue their legacy through every product we create. It’s about respecting the past, embracing the future, and ensuring that the values of our hardworking ancestors live on in every piece we make.

Responsible design
Responsible design sits at the centre of everything we make. From the earliest patterns to final construction, we design with purpose - minimising waste through efficient cutting layouts, thoughtful material use, and small-batch production. Our construction methods prioritise strength and longevity, using reinforced seams, durable stitching, and proven techniques that stand up to years of hard wear. By creating products that are built to last and designed to be repaired rather than replaced, we reduce waste at every stage and ensure each piece earns its place through lasting performance and reliability.

Premium fabrics
We use only the highest quality premium fabrics, carefully sourced from trusted suppliers across Northern Ireland and the UK. By working closely with local mills and manufacturers, we ensure every material meets our exacting standards for durability, performance, and feel. These fabrics are chosen not just for how they look, but for how they wear over time - standing up to daily use while ageing with character. Sourcing locally allows us to support regional industry, maintain consistent quality, and stay true to our commitment to craftsmanship, sustainability, and products built to last.

Quality manufacture
Our ethos is simple, make long-lasting, functional products, and celebrate the artisans who still practice their skills here in Northern Ireland. We employ skilled local artisans who have honed their craft over years, even generations. Every stitch, every seam, every detail of our products is made with an eye toward longevity - because we know that, like the hard-working people who came before us, nothing of value is created without care and attention.
Sustainability
Historically, aprons protected clothing from wear and damage, and today Belfast Bibs are designed with the same purpose - engineered to reduce waste through functional, considered design.
Our dry wax finish helps repel dirt and moisture, reducing the need for frequent laundering and the excess use of water and detergents.
We support longevity through a dedicated repair and maintenance service, extending the life of every product, and at end of life we close the circle by recovering components and fabrics so they can be repaired, reused, or re-crafted.
